With a house you also have the advantage of having a yard where kids can become active and and play in a safe environment. Renting a house provides you the freedom to choose if you want to live near the city, or in a residential area as apartments are usually situated in more commercial areas. There are a lot more options when it comes to renting a house as well. If you have a large family, than renting a house is a better choice, as they are a lot bigger. A disadvantage to renting a house is that there are no guarantees the homeowner will extend the contract beyond the existing terms. When the contract is due to expire; the owner can given notice that the house may not be available for rent in the future.
